This beautiful mosaic piece was handmade in the city of Madaba, a sacred spot in Jordan. People travel from all over the world to examine its mosaics and heritage and to take home a piece such as this. 

Medaba has a long history, dating back before 1300 BC. It is mentioned in the Bible at the time of Exodus. It is the land of many Byzantine mosaics, most notable of which is an anciant map of the Holy Land. 

The Tree of Life is an important symbol in nearly every culture. With its branches reaching to the sky and roots deep in the earth, it dwells in three worlds; a link between heaven, earth, and the underworld.
